Googling, Vibes, and Dead Cats

This is only a blog. No deep meaning, no political statement, no art. It just occurred to me that since Sorg has been exposing his thoughts and aspirations (amongst other things) to the world at large, maybe I should take this opportunity to provide way too much information to my friends as well. My Step-Führer and the Gun

This is Jeff and Asa's fault. They gave me a taste of gunpowder and I liked it.

My 86-year-old Step-Führer has a handgun. Actually, it is my mother’s gun, given to her by a cop she dated over 40 years ago. Luckily, she has no access to it, as pre-dementia and weaponry don’t play well together. Neither of them has ever fired it. I want the gun for target practice, but my Step-Führer likes "having a gun in the house." He said he would give me his .22 rifle, but I want to try the .38.

Yikes! I'm feeling the pressure!

I had planned on getting copies of Dianna's and Chad's pictures, and then editing them together with mine to make a really cool video, but Chad already posted one. If I worked at my normal speed, by the time I finished you would all be bored with this and deep into eggnog, so here's what I have. So where were you? I thought we had a date… I’m sure you have a good excuse for not showing up. Were you at Candace’s show in Carson? Did you have a flash of inspiration and just had to finish a great work of art? Did you have a few brewskis and decide to blow it off? Maybe you needed “Alone Time” or you were trying to make bail. God I love the Internet! Almost instant answers to my questions, which I admit can be obscure, but someone has to wonder about these things.

I have to give McCain points for his concession speech. I found it heartfelt and positive, considering the beating he had just received, but the music being played as he left the stage really caught my attention. I remember once, when I was probably 6 years old, my family was vacationing in the Ozarks. We stopped for dinner at this roadside restaurant. Our waiter was missing half of one arm, so I asked him what happened to it. He said, "I stuck it out the car window." I was probably 25 before I realized he must have been a Vietnam vet.

Serendipity Gets It Upity

serendipity gets it uppity for me because it can feel great to be out of control, not calling the shots, that can feel great. I like art in that way and art making, you know, when a drip just works. Usually it turns out the 'accident' was better than you possibly could have planned out. Well, that's kinda how this show should be seen. 50 artists have exhibitions in rooms next to each other, there's gonna be some juxtaposed serendipity gettin' it uppity in hee-ah.
