Celebrating Reno's Infinite Potential For Absurdity

if any of you have been following along through our blog posts, or such, you might have noticed that I like to twitter. and yet, I am still so new about the whole thing. I have read lots of twitter guides, like the big juicy twitter guide by caroline middlebrook, it helped me out a lot when I first was getting started.

and it made me think, to create my own twitter guide. something I will keep short and simple, because if you want to learn more in depth, you can go to the juicy guide, (for all of you super nerds out there like me). but for now, I want to make it easy to learn how to sign up, set up your profile, find a couple of applications that are fun, and get started. trust me, once you learn twitter, you will continue to learn, and grow, and discover new things. and when you do, perhaps you will want to come back and share with us!

and away we go!

1. go to twitter and sign up
**make sure you find a fun profile pic, either one of yourself, or something that represents you, you can change it all of the time if you like, do what feels right, you'll know, if you want to keep the same one, then keep it, there is really no hard and fast rules of twitter. just have fun with it.

2. there is a bio you fill out, 160 characters or less, be funny, be informative, be interesting, and if you have a blog, or a website, make sure to link to it. people really like to know more about the people they plan on following, or who are following them. we need to know if you are interesting, informative, fun, or if you really are not so much, then for sure I don't want to follow you so much.

remember** surround yourself with inspiration, and not with energies that pull you down, or drain you, and trust me, if you don't create your space, and keep out the garbage, that is what will fill your minds and radiate from you!

3. if you don't have a background picture, don't worry about it, but if you do, makes it more fun to visit your twitter home page, and you can change that too whenever you like

4. now, how do you follow others, and stay in touch, how do you know what's going on. if you are like me, and work from a computer a lot, you like things easy to see, and get too. lately I have been using twhirl.org, I like it because:

a. there is a screen that sits up in the corner of my computer, whatever corner I want that to be. there are two boxes I use. one for @gcrush and one for @bohocrush, I can read and keep updated on what 's going on ( friend's timelines) , and maintain updates with both of my accounts.

b. It makes it a whole lot easier to reply (@) or direct message (dm) somebody, you just put your mouse over the icon, and it gives you options. so easy!

c. it has a great menu, you can shorten url's, remember you only get 140 characters each post. you can easily upload a picture to twitter-through twitpic.com, and when people leave comments, will post to twitter as well! it does it automatically when you hit the camera icon, just load, and post. yahooo

d. it's like text messaging, except if you are like somebody like me who communicates with so many people, it is easier to speak to more people, at one time. ( text messaging is limited, however, you can still direct message, and things are kept more private if you need them to be.)

** if you are throwing parties or events, or hanging out at local places, post it, so your friends can find you, and come hang out with you! always know where all the action is at!

e. you can easily view when others are posting, either links, or actions, and its fun!

5. by using twitterfeed.com, you can sign up your blog to automatically link to a blog post when it is published. so cool, and you can have multiple feeds, and in my case, run one blog into two twitter accounts, you can control which goes where by using key words. ;)

6. now with this short process, you are ready to go, I welcome you to follow and interact with me @gcrush and @bohocrush, and feel free to look at those who I am following, to see if any are of interest to you.

I have an ongoing post my name is georgette and I am an aspiring twitter holic, of those who I want to follow, and those who I am following who in particular are of great importance to me: check it out, and if you have something to add, please feel free to leave it in the comments section. (I always update, so please check back regularly)

7. and you can follow from your phone, seeing as I do not have a phone currently, but am hoping someday to have an iphone, so I will be able to update via my phone. If any of you have anything to share about twittering on your cell phone, would love for you to share with us. I have new friends joining everyday, and could use some help. and I will be on someday with my cell phone.
**update: I have an iphone now, and twitterific is awesome! I highly recommend the iphone! it makes mobile twitter the best!!!!

** this post will continue to grow as well, I welcome you to bookmark, and continue to learn and grow with me.

now start following and twittering! yahooooooo

@bohocrush-receive all blog posts, and updates and current pictures of current photo shoots being photographed, (when we are near our computer, until we get a cell phone), know what parties bohocrush is attending in the local reno, black rock city, tahoe, some san fransisco areas. future competitions to win free memberships of bohocrush for all followers on twitter ;), and so much more to come

@gcrush- random, silly, teasing, flirting, sharing naughty pictures at times (get ready!), and playing with friends. never know what I am going to tweet, just love to do it!

remember you must be 18 or over to follow us in particular, and if you are not one who is open minded, ready for fun, and who has no room for judgments, then this is not the place for you. but if you are, please come on in, share, play, and let's have some fun!

A friend asked me to be on PLaxo, I accepted, then another friend asked me to be a friend on Facebook, and I joined Artreview as a friend, and now Ding Dong.
I really don't have time for any more. Twitter sounds exciting, but I can see myself getting way to involved with the internet. I do, though like nadadadadingdong. We are creating exceptional ideas that will come to fruition. This is exciting. Painting is gratifying and blogging is very fun, but, I must devote time to my art. I, myself have to stop somewhere or I can see this blogging getting way out of control. These sites are very addictive. Thats it.

Big thanx to beautiful Georgette,

I LOVE Twitter. It's simple, straight to the point & I check in there every night before bed. It's a way to inform the masses of what's new with you–up to the minute if you like.

And the best part, you can have your newest 'twit's featured on your Facebook/MySpace profile page OR even featured on your profile HERE!

You'll see MINE down on the left side, entitled: 'SorgSorg'sTweetTweet'...

I have to say,

I understand that there are so many applications and communities on the internet, and I know that it is never going to stop. The goal of these communities is to bring intimacy and connection. The twitter application makes it possible, with less effort. A small learning curve, but after a while, one can quickly get the hang of it.

The internet is our future. It provides so much right at our fingertips. And most of it is FREE!!!! yes you have to give time, in place of free, but the possibilities are endless. The connections are PROFOUND, and it's always great to have some fun while you are at it as well.

If you ever want to find out more about it join us here:

This site will serve what purpose?

Let's talk about this concept of art in motel rooms and how this art event is different–and how to keep making it STAND OUT. What're we doing in these motel rooms, hmmm?? How much interest has there been? What's it like to attend this thing? Can other cities get involved? Who pays what to whom? When is check out time? If we find porn under the bed do we keep it?

People have a lot of questions to ask so ask away–or answer away–hell, do both.

Serendipity Gets It Upity

serendipity gets it uppity for me because it can feel great to be out of control, not calling the shots, that can feel great. I like art in that way and art making, you know, when a drip just works. Usually it turns out the 'accident' was better than you possibly could have planned out. Well, that's kinda how this show should be seen. 50 artists have exhibitions in rooms next to each other, there's gonna be some juxtaposed serendipity gettin' it uppity in hee-ah.
