We are looking for Artists to display and/or sell their works at a benefit this July. This fund raiser will benefit the Burners without Boarders (BWB) organization. Burners Without Boarders is a grassroots, volunteer-driven. community leadership organization who's goal is to help unlock the creativity of local communities to solve problems that bring about meaningful change. After Hurricane BWB set out to help those who could not help themselves. BWB has grown into a dynamic, international, volunteer organization made possible by the generous financial support of communities and an army of highly creative volunteers. This past year alone, Burners Without Borders welcomed over 400 volunteers from all over the world to Pisco, Peru to support earthquake reconstruction efforts there. In communities across the world, people inspired by the activities of BWB, are taking the initiative to bring creative solutions to issues they care about. Whether it's using art to save camp fires at San Francisco's Ocean Beach, mobilizing volunteers to support the victims of the Fernley, Nevada flood, or creating an effective flood prevention program in Chicago, BWB's innovative solutions help make a real impact.
On July 18, 2009, several cities across America will be celebrating Burners Without Borders with fundraising events. Reno's will take place at The Amendment 21. The party is set to begin at 3pm with primarily outside activities, and will last well into the night inside the venue. This is an all ages event so all art must be G rated. Go to www.renobenefitwithoutborders.com for further info on this event and how you can participate. Anyone interested in bringing their art to the event please contact me directly through the web site or at Jeff-carver@att.net.
Thanks for helping.

Let's talk about this concept of art in motel rooms and how this art event is different–and how to keep making it STAND OUT. What're we doing in these motel rooms, hmmm?? How much interest has there been? What's it like to attend this thing? Can other cities get involved? Who pays what to whom? When is check out time? If we find porn under the bed do we keep it?
People have a lot of questions to ask so ask away–or answer away–hell, do both.

serendipity gets it uppity for me because it can feel great to be out of control, not calling the shots, that can feel great. I like art in that way and art making, you know, when a drip just works. Usually it turns out the 'accident' was better than you possibly could have planned out. Well, that's kinda how this show should be seen. 50 artists have exhibitions in rooms next to each other, there's gonna be some juxtaposed serendipity gettin' it uppity in hee-ah.
